To mark the 160-year jubilee of the legendary Munich department store Ludwig Beck, the women's first-floor fashion department spanning 1,600 square metres was revamped with the aid of the Multi-Lane ceiling rail system and reopened in 2021. Following the motto "outside in", the refurbishment plays with design features that adorn the outer facade of the listed building on Marienplatz.
The interior references the building's facade with a mix of patterns, shapes and colours. Full-length windows offer a view over Marienplatz – linking the indoor and outdoor spaces. The Multi-Lane ceiling rail system enables fast reconfiguration and adjustments to changing merchandise. The system's ceiling profiles were selected in an unobtrusive white and support the curtain rails. The frames suspended from Multi-Lane are in the colour forest green. Floating above the floor, they structure the space and lend a sense of spaciousness to the concept. Power rails are also integrated in the ceiling profiles and supply electricity to the sophisticated lighting concept from Ansorg.
